This is one of the best ornamental maples, of all ornamental maples. Congratulations! It keeps the golden color super-well in shade, and has lovely reddish tints on new growth. Well done on the naming Keith! :) I still have mine listed with the old name, heh. The seed very often produces nice yellow plants, (though I haven't managed to germinate it; there's never much seed on 'Gold Coin' here), which are unfortunately are sometimes sold as the cultivar. Yours is grafted though, right? I've been trying to get a plain amplum ssp amplum for years now, have never seen it available anywhere, though I think seed might occasionally be available. -E
@LoverOfMaples it was from Oriental Garden Supply. It was packaged well and looks healthy. @emery the maple is grafted so I hope I have the cultivar
Thanks @kbguess. I was on that site this morning looking around. Good to know they have nice looking plants and package them well.
Not available in the UK, which is rather disappointing. Just viewed the Oriental Garden Supply web site, they do have some wonderful cultivars. Good recommendation @kbguess.
