Can anybody tell me what this is please and also how to kill it? It grows in the borders and up through the lawn. I spray weedkiller on the leaves when it appears and it does die back, but then pops up elsewhere.

It's now appeared in the rockery at the back and I want to stop it dead in its tracks.

    Thank you.

It is possible the seeds of Geum are viable for quite some time - so if you keep pulling up new ones before they flower you should be rid of the plants in due time. It does not appear that the species you have is considered invasive (as is G. urbanum). The root on G. urbanum is somewhat tuberous; your plants may be as well so you may need to pull up the tuberous part of the roots. It does not appear to spread by runners.
