First post :) We bought our first house last year and pretty much neglected the yard as we needed to concentrate our efforts inside. This year we've decided to try a veggie garden but there is this ground cover plant in the way, it's trying to take over the lawn and I haven't been able to find out what it is through countless hours of searching online. ] It smells terrible when cut it smells abit like cedar, it's under some also neglected cedar tress and grows like mad, so much so that a bird feeder on the ground got buried under it within a week, it grows about a foot tall. I've taken a picture of one of the single plants but it grows in clusters and has a purplish/red tinge to the base when you try to pull it up. I'm fairly certain that it's goutweed as there are variegated versions trying to creep into our yard from the neighbour's yard. I'm in Northern Ontario, North Bay. Thanks for any help. Here's a pic (hope it works) :)
