I live in North Central Texas in the USA. My lawn is mostly Bermuda grass with some St Augustine grass mixed in. I'm using an organic program. My concern is an invasive weed that I have tentatively identified with the common name "rustweed". So far the only organic control seems to be to pull it.

The weed is fern like this summer but will become a reddish brown this fall with small stickers. The bloom is a small white puff ball shape which will produce a very prolific seed crop.

I would like to have conformation of the identity and control recommendations for this weed. I have pulled them from the yard four times this summer and they continue to return.

    A digital is attached.

If no reply here (I don't know what it is), take a flowering sample with roots to your local county extension office.

Thanks for the prompt reply and the link. The pictures in the link lot similar what I in the yard last fall. The name juniper leaf was new to me but it is apt. Rustweed , juniper leaf and Polypremum procumbens all seem to be a proper ID. I'll continue to pull the weed to prevent it from taking over my yard.
