In The Garden: Intrigued!

    Hello!

    Spring has just hit (thank goodness!) and two things suddenly flowered in my garden. I would really appreciate some help on identifying them. :)

    I've included two pictures of the first plant, as it seems more complex than the second. I've not been into gardening very long, so please forgive my ignorance if these are both readily recognisable!

    #1 is a Pieris, probably Pieris japonica.
    #2 is a variegated cultivar of Greater Periwinkle Vinca major.

    The first plant looks like a Pieris of some sort
