    Hello!

I got this tree about three years ago at Ikea. The tag said something along the lines of "Ornamental plant. Needs light, keep soil moist." The first two years that I had it, it didn't grow any new leaves (but it didn't lose more than two or three, either). I moved in May, and since then it has grown a few more leaves, in two clumps of three or four leaves.

The tree is about four and half feet tall. The old leaves are maybe four inches long, but the new ones are more like six inches long. The leaves are stiff and very slightly waxy. The trunk is mainly brown, but in some areas also a smooth green.

Do any of you wonderful people have any thoughts? I want to keep it happy, and am very pleased that it has at last started to grow. It would be nice to know what I should be doing for it!

    Many thanks.

That looks like my tree! I guess it had needed more light to make it actually grow, but I will be careful not to over water it. It's in one of those pots with a reservoir at the bottom, so I'll pay attention to how much water I pour in.

It would be neat if it were a cinnamon tree like the cinnamon in my kitchen cabinet - but it's still a lovely houseplant.

Thanks so much for the quick reply!
