Monstera deliciiosa is found in Mexico, all of Central America and into South America. it grows along streams and river banks and loves water although it can be very tolerant of drought. These are climbers and in the rain forest you'll find them climbing large trees growing to incredible heights. You'll find it displays best if the stems (base of the plant) are supported by pieces of rough wood.

Once mature the plant will eventually produce an inflorescence. There is a delicious fruit found just beneath the outer casing (one full layer beneath) of the spadix which tastes very much like a combination of pineapple and strawberry, thus the name "delicoso"..........delicious!
