We have a Japanese Maple in our home which we season for 5 months of the year. This year we have what we think is melee bug on the entire tree. The leaves have all fallen due to the season but we are still left with the problem of how to get rid of these critters. The bugs started on our mature Jade plant garden and wiped out all the plants and have now travelled to the tree. Our Japanese Maple is over 50 years old... Any ideas! Keep in mind the tree is in our home so chemicals are not an option.

Hi there. Easy to solve, with a little elbow grease.....get a "q tip", and some rubbing alcohol, and touch the mealies, with the qtip dipped in the alcohol. They will die instantly. Just start from the top of the tree, and work your way down. Check daily for new ones, and in no time at all your tree will be clear of them.

    Wind,

Hope that caud's advice is useful. Could you post a pic of your maple?
