I have been trying to grow an indoor herb garden, including rosemary, mint, basil, thyme, oregano and lavender. The first couple of days, these plants look fine and seem quite happy. However, a few days later, the leaves on the spearmint and lavender started turning brown. Looking at the rims of the pot, I realized that I've over-fertilized a number of these plants (the rims of the pot are covered with white deposits). What should I do now? Should I repot these plants and get rid of the soil? Should I run water through them and hopefully leech out any fertilizer? I also don't want to over water them, as St. Louis is well known for its humidity...
    Help!
