I have a couple rows of raspberry, they do quite well, but there are sections that are going yellow and sections that are throwing up new shoots. I have T-tape going through the rows which I water for 30 min each day. Any ideas on why I've got some dying plants? Thanks Jon
Rapberries are susceptible to various diseases, including root rot (Phytophthora). That might be the problem, or it might be over-watering. Watering every day is not a good idea. A deep watering once a week (if no rain) should be enough.
If you grow both June-bearing and ever-bearing raspberries, you will have fruit from late May through October. Everbearing types can be grown for June and later crops, but I prefer to prune them so that the June crop is eliminated, and all of the plant's energy is directed into the late crop. Right now my June-bearing varieties are still producing , and there are already a few ripe berries from the ever-bearing variety.
