Impatiens scapiflora is found in many parts of Southern India,this flower is often confused with Impatiens acaulis, which is also common in Southern India.But the two species are easily distinguished by their flower. In I.Scapilflora the lower petal are deeply bilobed,whereas in I.acauils they are single lobed.

This photograph was taken in the rain forest of Silent Valley National Park, this park is one of the last undisturbed tracts of South Western Ghats montage rain forests and tropical moist evergreen forest in India.
