My vigorously growing and flowering impatiens plant has grains that look and taste like sugar on the leaf stems. What is this about?

Hello. My plant, which Im still not sure what it is yet, has the same thing on its leaves. Looks like grains of sugar, and. I didnt taste them so I dunno if they're sweet, but thats interesting. I posted looking for someone to tell me what my plant is. So far the only answer I got was Impatiens, but Im not sure. What do you think it looks like?

It looks and TASTES like sugar. Every impatens I've had does this. I think it IS a form of sugar, and some clever industrialist/inventor could probably make a fortune, if they could figure out how to extract it.

Could it be dried-out drops of nectar that have fallen from the flowers?
