    Hi,

I bought a couple house plants from Ikea the other day, one being an English Ivy and the other I'm dying to know the name of. The attached picture is not mine but I found it on the internet.

The one I have is on the right, same pot even except I took mine out of the plastic one and added pebbles in the bottom. Any idea?

    Thanks a bunch.

On the right is Codaeum of some sort, commonly called Gold Dust Croton. They are very easy to care for - make sure they have lots of light, and water when the soil is dry.

Thanks! Glad to hear that it is easy to care for. I have it on a wall shelf getting eastern light out of a 12ft window.... should that be enough light for it?

Probably. If it starts to droop or fade, check your soild conditions, and if that appears ok, add an artificial bulb. Where in Canada are you?

I'm just east of Toronto on Lake Ontario. The shelf the plant is on is about 7 feet up and the shelf is just big enough for the pot so I hope I don't need a bulb! I did a little research on the plant and read that the spots will fade on the top leaves if it does not get enough light, which has happened to my plant, probably from sitting in Ikea for while. Will the spots reappear or come back on newer leaves?
