Can somebody please help me identify these two bonsais? I have bought them in IKEA, Spain. Thank you!
Bottom line. Looks like Zelkova serrata.Your pics are so small it is difficult to be positive. Compare your leaf with pics here. http://images.google.com/imgres?img...n-gb:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7SUNA_en-GB&sa=G&um=1
Thanx, I was thinking about that one, it is the japanese elm, right? But the chinese elm has the same type of leaves, so how can I know which one it is... For me they look identical. These are my first bonsai trees... I really appreciate your help.
Common names can be confusing. Ulmus davidiana japonica is the japanese elm. http://images.google.com/imgres?img...n-gb:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7SUNA_en-GB&sa=N&um=1 Ulmus parvifolia is the chinese elm. http://www.chineseelm.com/images/Chinese Elm 2.jpg Zelkova serrata has the common name Japanese Zelkova. http://facultystaff.richmond.edu/~j...r_woody_plants/zelkova_serrata_VATECH_01s.JPG Hope this hasn't confused you and helps!
Thanx, it was confusing at first, but think got a hang of it now... The second one is definetly a chinese elm, if you click on the posted picture, it gets quite big, I think it is very easy to see the pictures... Have a look if you want. The other one isn't the holly plant... At least I dont think it looks like that. Could it be a boxwood or a fukien tea or a cotoneaster?
