Saw this today while walking thru the woods. Most varieties were all yellow, but this one was red and yellow. Can anyone tell me its name?

Broom which I think is an introduced invasive plant. I seem to be surrounded by it on the Sunshine Coast.
    Looks pretty though!

Yes, a horrible invasive. This particular one is likely variety andreanus (Cytisus scoparius var. andreanus from the USDA's PLANTS database) because of the red and yellow flowers.

Yep, Common Broom (Cytisus scoparius), one of the orange/red flower cultivars such as 'Andreanus' or 'Firefly'

Since it's spontaneous it would be a var. and not a cultivar. Red-and-yellow flowered plants are common here, seen mixed in with the all yellow.

Thank you for your responses. I just moved to BC last fall and had heard about the dreaded broom. It's too bad it is so invasive, as it is beautiful in bloom.
