    Hello everyone,

I need help identifying this plant. I am a newbie with this things, and I tried to search it but had no luck with the sources themselves...

I would be happy if someone can tell me the name of this plant:

PS: I don't know if this plant is common worldwide but just a little tip I live in Lima, Perú.

    Looks like a Kalanchoe.

    you are a genius :D

Do you know plants by heart or experience, or there is a little system or rule to name the plants?

Well...both! Some plants I have known since I was a kid, others I have come to know. This forum has been a big part of that process.

I thought that your plant was a Kalanchoe from its resemblance to plants my mom had years ago, plants I have seen in shops, and plants I have seen on this Forum. (Then I looked it up to make sure my memory was functioning correctly!)

Plants have a classification system which is a sort of family tree: all start out at 'Plant', and are sorted into finer and finer divisions until at the very end is the one specific name that means your plant and no other.

Looking at plants helps you to ID other ones---leaf shape and arrangement, flowers, color, etc. The more of this you see, the more info you have in your mental computer that will match up with a new plant and help you ID it.

Enjoy this Forum---it is The Best!
