hello there. Hope I'm doing this right. It's my first attempt ! I'd really appreciate knowing a little about this houseplant. It's not very well and I'm worried I may lose it. Some of the shoots/leaves are going a bit yellow and there is a definite droop to them too. I feed with baby bio. Thanks for reading x

Overfed? Over-watered? How do you control the amount of water it is getting?

I water quite sparingly and pour away any excess after an hour . it is quite pot bound but then its in a big pot already. The trouble is ...... there are so many bulb like things that are filling the pot . I did cut them off last year when i re-potted and the plant didn't appear traumered in any way. I have just moved house and there is morning sun on the plant. It's not specially hot tho' , it is Autumn. I'm tempted to get a really good house plant compost and re - pot again but I don't want to upset it even more. It's always seemed such a hardy plant, and incredibly graceful x thanks for all your help x

can you over feed ? that's the only difference, apart from moving two doors along the road. I bought 3 bottles of baby bio so I wouldn't run out and I've used it when I water each week. Should I stop for a bit ?

Yes, it is possible. Too much of a good thing is not a good thing, as the saying goes. Read the instruction on the baby bio bottle and use a little bit less, never more than the instruction says.

I use Schultz liquid fertilizer for some of my houseplants, my Asparagus among them, for as long as I remember. I apply it once a week, a few drops in a liter of water. It looks like it doesn't do any harm. I don't know anything about baby bio, though. I have my Asparagus for over twenty years now, never re-potted or moved it. It lives close to my W facing window. The pot is filled tight with what you describe as "bulb like things", that actually are tubers where plant stores water and nutrients. I don't try to remove them, they are there on purpose, otherwise the plant would not produce them. I water my Asparagus once a week well, until the water starts showing up in the saucer under the pot. It takes it back up in a few hours.

Sorry, I can't exactly say what is the reason for your problem. All I can do is share my experience with you, hope it helps.

And, yes, I would stop fertilizing for a bit to see how it will work. And, don't remove any tubers any more :-).

    Good luck!
