    Hello,

I am trying to identify these 2 plants that I have grown from seeds collected in Madeira (Macaronesia in the Atlantic Ocean). The first plant is grown from a seed collected in a pod and the flowers of the tree looked like red eyelashes. The leaves retract at nightime and open during the daytime.

The second plant, I have even less information on. Actually, I know nothing about it at all, except that it comes from Madeira.

Any idea what these might be?

    Thank you,

    Dunstan.

thanks for that Silver Surfer! It looks like it is closely related to the Persian Silk tree, though slightly different (red flowers that look more like eyelashes than like feathers).
But that's great help! Any idea for the second one?

no, Silver Surfer, it's definitely not a Delonix Regia. It looked more like an Albizia, because the whole flower looked like eyelashes. It wasn't a flower with lashes on top like the Delonix Regia, if you know what I'm trying to say...
