Identification: Identifying House Plant/Tree

I would like to find out the name of this tree please.

 

Can it be planted outside?

 

Yucca elephantipes

 

It will freeze out in most of the deep South except possibly coastal areas.

Yes you can, and you can re pot the crown. You will get new growth from the trunk
