    Hi
I am trying to identify a tree/shrub. It flowers in late winter when there are no leaves present. I produces hanging stems of lovely little bell shaped yellow flowers. When in full flower, it starts to develop leaves, then flowers die away. It reminds me of a Japanese plant.
    Any help appreciated thankyou.

    Check Corylopsis.

    A photo would help, though!

    Or Chimonanthus praecox?

Of if they are hanging clusters, also consider Stachyurus.

    Long shot: Edgeworthia.
