identify winter blooming plant

    A friend in Tsawwassen, B.C. has this vine blooming in her yard. Photo was taken today. Please help identify. Thanks!

    I think by definition all winter-blooming plants are lovely! Try sweet box (Sarcococca sp.), witch hazel (Hamamelis sp.) and, depending on your location, Camellia sasanqua. So nice to see blooms or smell fragrance this time of year!

    Chimonanthus praecox is blooming at the Garden right now. It does not look much like, but the fragrance us heavenly. Some viburnums make a wonderful winter show as well.
