I'm in B.C. for vacation and came across these berries which look like raspberries. However, rather than the very distinct sections, these are very small, and have an almost velvet appearance. Also, the leaves are quite large, and almost maple leaf in looks. Before I start eating, thought I'd better identify them!

It is a raspberry. It's Rubus parviflorus, thimbleberry. The fruits aren't much, but they have quite a rich unique flavour.

Thanks for the info. Not as sweet and juicy, but quite tasty, and no thorns!
