Please help identify this tree that has been growing against my house for 18 years. I planted a pussy willow from a floral arrangement which grew into this. In the spring it produces pussy willow like buds. It always seems like it is going to die because there are many dead branches that just crack off but then it seems to come back to life. The birds love it so I do not really want to remove it unless it is invasive.
    Thanks Terry

The common one like this in gardens and commerce is French pink pussy willow. Nurseries sell it as Salix discolor (which it is not) or S. caprea but it is probably a hybrid involving S. caprea.
