Identify this Vine?

    Growing in the Qu'appelle valley in Saskachewan, this vine has berry clusters of 10 -12, the colour of Saskatoon berries, but with 5-6 large brown seeds in side. Leaves are similar to milkweed, but the berries are not?

    Definitely Smilax, and it seems S. lasioneura is the only one found in Saskatchewan.

    Thanks a bunch, common name is "common carrion flower" which explains why we thought there was a dead animal at our lake lot!
