Identify this tree

    There is a beautiful tree I have found on grounds in Charlottesville but I have no idea what kind of tree it is and it is pretty special to me so if anyone can identify it please let me know. I have attached pictures.

    Hi,
    It is definitely a Magnolia. Possibly Magnolia x loebneri??

    Magnolia denudata or M. x soulangeana. These are told apart by details of the flower or by the leaves. M. denudata is a parent of M. x soulangeana, some M. x soulangeana are quite similar to M. denudata. (The other parent is M. liliiflora).
