In The Garden: Identify this plant - Alexandria, Egypt

    Someone posted the photo of a plant that they took in Alexandria, Egypt. I asked her to identify the plant and she was unable to do so. I thought I'd give it a try on this forum. I have attached a copy of the photo. Your help is appreciated.

    Some additional information: small plant, flower the size of a coin, low growing. Again, thank you.

    Asteraceae, perhaps Gaillardia aristata.

    hmm, strolling through Google images of Gaillardia got me to a country club near Oklahoma City but not much looking like this flower. Is it possible the flower in the picture is about to open, or is it a green petaled flower?
