Identification: Identify - please?

    Hi I'm new here - I found this site while fruitlessly trying to satisfy my curiosity and figure out what this is.

    The second photo is another bunch of them, picture's not as clear, but I thought it was funny a bumblebee thought they were flowers - you can just see the underside of the bee heavy with bright yellow pollen on the far right.

    Looks like Indian pipe, Monotropa uniflora.

    Cool! Thanks!

    (edited to add: Wow - what an interesting plant - I thought for sure it had to be some kind of fungus since it obviously had no chlorophyll. Funny finding patches of these in my backyard - I've lived here 12 years and never noticed it before. :D)

    I'm completely in envy! I think these plants are incredible! I've yet to find a living group of them.
    On many sites people often post these as fungi...so don't feel bad. :o)
