I live in southwest florida and wondering if my tree is a banyan tree? do Banyan trees drop little red berries (that are a big mess)? I do not know if it is a banyan or a strangler fig. It blooms about 2 to 3 times a year. what is the differerence between the two?

Looks like a banyan, has the roots that grow down from the branches to become new trunks. There are hundreds of species of fig trees, but as with other groups only certain ones are highly prevalent in gardens of a given region. Cut some branches with fruits at the appropriate time and take to nearby public garden or nursery for identification.
