Just bought this Cactus and have no idea what it is. Could someone please identify the name of this plant. It has Long thorns, green leaves and little red flowers. Thank you
It's a Crown of Thorns -- Apparently the crown that Jesus wore when he was crucified. I love its flowers. They come with yellow flowers too.
DandyLioness, I doubt that this plant had reached Jerusalem from its native Madagascar by the time of Jesus's crucifixion. More likely candidates for the "crown-of-thorns" are Paliurus spina-christi and Ziziphus spina-christi.
