This appears to be a house plant, but we can't identify it. Can anybody help?

Looks to me to be a Croton. As to which one I'm not sure, you may have to google images.

I thought it might be a Croton too, but they don't seem to have that long thread with a little leaf at the end. However I'll have a Gargle to see what I can find. It does look familiar, but I just can't place it.

I'd say definitely a Croton. Not ALL Crotons have the little leaf at the end. I grow around 14 different Crotons and only one of them has the long thread with the little leaf at the end.
Here is a few of my Crotons without the little leaf at the end

It does look like a croton. It looks like there is some yellow specks, or streaks in a couple of the leaves, but I never knew the tips of the leaves grew long skinny leaves like that.
It looks like it may be in need of a lot more light and plenty of direct sun whatever it is.
