I found this little cactus along with hundreds of others against a wall at a fort in Bermuda. It was all of an inch big. I wrapped it in a wet paper towel and brought it home. It stayed small for a year or so in a small pot then when I re-planted it to a bigger pot it took off! Now it is about 12" high and I'm going to replant it again and put it ouside for the summer. Out of curiousity...what type is it??
Looks happy and healthy! I believe it is an Opuntia ficus-indica... loves the brightest light you can provide, and it will reward you with sensational blooms, over the next few years..
Generally not a good idea to transport cacti across borders, as most are CITES protected. In this case, it seems to be one of the exempt species.
