I have just bought an Acer Palmatum SJOHJOH SHIDARE and I can't find a reference to this name. Is it the same variety as SJOJO SHIDARE, or is it different?. Any help would be most wecome.

More than likely the correct spelling is 'Shojo shidare', look up this one and see if it matches your maple. The Japanese names are often transliterated into English different ways, for example "o" could be written as "oh", "o" or "o with an accent".

Thank you for the welcome and the information, I had wondered if the translation was the problem. The foliage seems to match, Sjojo Shidare. My Son in law pointed out, this is a rare acer and difficult to get hold of. Thanks again, DOMMI.
