Hi, a friend has a very interested plant and states that it is banned within the UK. The leaves are a typical green with an almost rubbery texture. The leaves have a shape similar to a holly, but flat. On each of the holly like points on the leaves are small plants that grow then drop off. I think this is some sort of propagation. The stalk is quite thick and sectioned where the leaves grow, which almost give it the appearence of bamboo. Im sorry but for the time being I have no pictures but will ask this friend to send some to me as soon as possible.

If anyone has any speculations It would be greatly appreciated, as I have no idea where to start in identifying this plant. Thanks.

EDIT: I appologise in advanced as I am NOT sure if this is an indoor or outdoor plant. To be honest it is probably an outdoor plant due to its method of reproduction. The friend has it potted in his kitchen.

Look up Kalanchoe daigremontiana - that fits on every count, particularly the small plantlets on the leaf edges. It can be a troublesome weed in hot climates and may be banned in some tropical areas, but is definitely an indoor only plant in Britain, and there are no laws banning it here.

If you can post a photo, that will help confirm the identification.
