I am looking for help identifiying this plant that recently appeared in one of my beds.

To give you a little background, it is growing between a palm tree and a banana plant, both of which I had special ordered in late spring of this year from a plant importer. According to the importer the banana and palm both originated in Texas, were shipped to Montreal (not in the same shipment) and then sent on to me here in Vancouver.
I do not know where, or along which route, this particular plant originated from but I am pretty sure it is not native to BC, and because it looked sort of tropical I dug it up a couple of weeks ago and put it in a pot in one of my greenhouse. Then yesterday I noticed that it was starting to flower.
FYI, the color on the flower is actually quite vivid, the pictures really do not do it justice.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
According to what I am reading dayflowers seem to be about zone 7 or so I might just put it back in the spring....looks like it would make a good ground cover.
