Identification help - flower from Western Australia

    Can anyone help identify this flower? It was from the botanical gardens in the Camden area of Sydney Australia. I think it's from Western Australia.

    I'll guess something in the genus Ptilotus.

    Examples, but not exact matches:

    Ptilotus manglesii (and here, too)

    About a 100 species in Australia.

    Thanks, I suspected it might be from ptilotus too because there were a lot of them around the area. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to ask the guides there. Thanks for the help
