Identification: Can you please identify this flower?

    My grandad planted this flower thinking nothing of it. Now that its grown so beautifully we’d like to buy more seeds but he does not know the name of the flower.

    It is a bulb called Tulipa...common name Tulip.
    A very fine double one.
    There are many similar named tulips.
    Maybe Tulipa Orange Princess.

    Tulips are normally purchased as bulbs which are planted in the fall ready to bloom the following year. Many bulbs do grow from seeds but take years to reach blooming size. Even then you wouldn't likely get the special flowers like the ones in your photo.

    Thank you! My taid thought so but wasn’t sure what type. Sadly didn’t get a picture when they were at their prime, so beautiful!
