I have this plant that has grown from a very small one to a lovely, seemingly happy plant, but all of a sudden, all of the newer leaves at the bottom have turned yellow. Any ideas what is wrong with it and what type of plant it is?

Probably natural senescence of older leaves on the Syngonium
as long as there's new growth coming on.

Thank you, Chris. Actually, though, I think that the leaves that have yellowed are new leaves?

Mine will do the same thing from time to time, not sure why, maybe a touch too wet or something. The rest of the plant is in perfect health otherwise, and yours looks pretty healthy too. Just keep the soil a little on moist side (I ck weekly) and in bright indirect light.

Thanks, Bluewing. I am relatively new to plants and this was what I called "my baby" because it grew so well, and I was a little confused as to why it would suddenly not be so happy, when my care of it hasn't changed.

Your welcome! Syngomiums are pretty easy plants, so unless you really over water, let them dry out like a tumble weed, or place them in blazing hot sun, you should be ok:)
