Please help me identify this tree. I am hoping to find one and grow it in my home during the winter and keep it outside in the summer. Also, if you know of any suppliers for this tree that would be helpful.

    Thanks for any help.

I don't want to open your pdf on my computer. Can you get it so your picture opens on the thread?

In Hawaii there are common showy tropicals that are seen in gardens throughout the tropics, these tend to be what is noticed by visitors and residents alike. Some of these can be managed as house plants in cold climates, others require a bright greenhouse. There are also weedy species in abundance, as well as rare ones including genuine Hawaiian natives that may not be on the market. It all depends on where you went and what you saw, if your picture is from a hike in the mountains it could be of some rare native that is not grown much.

The leaves have a very Mimosa look to them.

One of the Fabaceae, to be sure; could be a Mimosa or an Acacia, but the flowers make me think it's something else again...

Hoorah! The name of the tree is Colvillea racemosa Boje. It was discovered in Madagascar. Iorax, thanks for giving me a family name to search which assisted me greatly.
