I was doing a hike from Snug Harbour and around Killarney Lake on Bowen Island this weekend and one of the visitors that I was with ask what kind of spiny plants these were. We saw then throughout Bowen Island on the side of the roads and trails around the lake.

They kinda look cool with no leaves and only tines but I don't remember seeing them growing wild in the Vancouver area.

    Regards

    Joe
