Identification: id please

    i found this very cool plant...no tag and it was the only one there. wonderful variegation on the leaves...bits of purple mixed in with the green..

    i need an id so i can care for it properly...basically it's doing okay at the moment with bright sunlight (some direct for an hour or so a day) and watering weekly.

    the pics aren't the greatest. i can take more if needed.

    I'm going ou on a limb here(pun intended) but what about a Croton of some description? Just guessing though...

    hi, ed! i'd thought about that, too.

    i don't know enough about them to know if it could be or not. the leaf shape doesn't seem right for it though - nor the growth pattern.

    the leaf coloration DOES remind you of croton though, that's for sure!

    thanks, chris!!! pceuderanthemum atropurpureum 'tricolor' it is!

    i guesstimated on light needs and erred on the cautious side...i need to get in in a sunnier spot for it to keep the brilliant coloring!

    Chocolate Plant, Pseuderanthemum alatum is subtropical.
    I can't speak for the others though.
