ID please - hummingbird-nip

    The plant indicated in the not very good photo attached is like catnip to Anna's hummingbirds. It is lower growth pattern is woody (though quite brittle), evergreen (in Vancouver) and it produces flower stalks about a metre high with red tubular flowers about 2-3 cm long. The Anna's hover up and down the stalk sipping from each bloom.

    Looks like Penstemon to me, probably P. barbatus.

    Thank you Axel, that sure seems to be it. Assuming that I'll be able to get some additional plants, my hovering little friends also thank you.
