    This little guy seems quite robust. Thanks for ID if you know.

    Edit after tentative ID by Vitog: Today I added a third photo, this showing better detail of the very strange leaf shape.

    The plant is a creeper, with a ridged main stem and what I would classify as drunken-lobate leaves.

    I'm hoping to get an ID in order to decide whether to remove it from the big pot in which our prized Salmonberry is flourishing. I have three new, tiny 99¢ fuschias from WIG, clamouring for planting-space. Thank you.

    The plant "showed up by itself" in a container on our balcony.

    It's difficult to see what an individual leaf looks like, but they could be Hairy Bittercress, Cardamine hirsuta, or the similar C. oligosperma.

    @vitog
    Thank you so much for your suggested identification. Previously I had no name at all from which to even begin.
    —As you mentioned difficulty in seeing the leaf shape, I've added a third photo today, which I placed as an edit in my first post in this thread. A very intriguing leaf shape indeed, when viewed closely.

    Is it still Caramine something?

    Yes, a Cardamine of some kind.

    Oops. I'd written caraminus the D.
    D is now duly noted.

    Thank you for your help.
