My mother tends to gift plants to me when her garden gets too full. However, her gardening technique is rather haphazard at best. In this case she claims the plant never came from her and has never seen it before in her life. Right. Anyway, here it is in all it's glory. Is there anyone who can help to ID this plant? I have this nagging feeling it might spread so I'd like to figure out how to take control of it before it takes control of my garden. Thanks in advance for your help.
Looks like Lysimachia punctata. Not considered a pest here so far but another species is. http://dnr.metrokc.gov/wlr/LANDS/weeds/gdnlstrf.htm
Thanks for your help. It is indeed a Lysimachia punctata. Thankfully of the garden variety and not so invasive although it will still need a close eye to keep it in check I think.
