Identification: ID - is this a polypore???

    Help!!! Please help me to ID this, it was growing on a dead tree...had a look around the internet and I think it's a type of polypore...am I right? If so what type? Thanks, Beth.

    Yes, it's a polypore. We'd need a picture of the underside to make a conclusion on species. Possibly Polyporus squamosus.
