    saw this at my bank, photo taken April 21. Elderly Mother would like to get one, but we don't know what it is. Thanks in advance for any help

    Welcome to UBC forums Sandie.
    It is Berberis sp....previously known as Mahonia sp.
    It has long arching yellow flowers . Your pic shows the berries.

    Mahonia × media 'Charity'. It had yellow flowers; the "grapes" will be purple and can be used sort of like lemon juice.
