    Hello,
Can you help me identify this species?
Found in humid forest in New Caledonia.
    On a piece of wood.
They only measured a few millimeters.
    Thanks

    Hi @Ben Caledonia
    Lovely wee thing!
Ascomycetes like this generally require microscopy for a real ID, but at least can be narrowed down, and you never know there might be a character that makes this stand out from the multitude.
Some things that should help with ID: The different colour/texture in the centre of the disc / hymenium, the fact that it is on wood rather than reeds etc, orientation (disc faces sky not ground), lack of marginal hairs, relatively tall stipe portion.
As well as the basics of size/colour/shape. Hardwood vs conifer helps in some cases, but hard to say at this stage whether relevant.
Hope that is helpful: I'll take a look too and see what I can find.
