ID help for evergreen shrub in CA

    saw this beautiful evergreen shrub in Malibu. it's about 2-3 feet tall. does anyone know what it is? thank you!

    Not sure, but not Cotoneaster. A close-up might help.

    The leaf shape, colour and arrangement remind me of the Australian Leptospermum laevigatum, which I recall having seen planted at Santa Monica Pier. It's tolerant of salt spray.

    Not cotoneaster. Someone told me it's a manzanita. But not sure if it's 'Pacific Mist' or 'Howard McMinn'. Attached is a close-up.
