I found this plant the other day growing in a wet subalpine area on Vancouver Island. It's not QAL, it's not Ligusticum grayi, not poison hemlock, cow parsnip or yarrow... About a metre tall. The best I can narrow it down is to being a water hemlock (either Cicuta maculata or douglasii), or an Angelica - I am guessing genuflexa. I did not handle it to check out the root. Are there any Apiaceae experts here? :) Thanks so much!!!
It would be most helpful to see a good pic of the flowers also the leaves of the first plant. Looking up to the underside does not really help with an accurate id. It appears to have a smooth round stem. Are the leaves alternate? Do the flowers have 5 petals? eg.
