I found this in the fir bark chips in one of my orchid pots. The bark chips are about 1.5 years old and are starting to decompose somewhat; I haven't seen anything appear on the surface of the material, but when I was checking my plant's roots yesterday, I found this down in the pot. Maybe it's just an early stage of the fungus, but I was curious about what it might be. http://klanky.com/general/PotStuff.jpg Those little white spheres are about 1/32" in diameter. As you might imagine, since these bark chips are kept moist all the time, this is probably a great place for fungi. Anybody recognize it?
