ID for plant on roadside bank western NC 2

    Hi,
    Plants found growing on roadside bank western NC mtns. Soil is sandy and acidic. Can anyone tell me what they are?

    I'm getting a bit of a Ranunculaceae feel on this one... but I don't have access to my books to see the illustrations associated with Cronquist.

    Yes! I think that's it....possibly Ranunculus abortivus? But there are a few that I found in "namethatplant" --that might fit the location and have the round leaves...
